You likely know that our friends Todd and Ellen have been working to expand their family via international adoption (you can learn more about it at their blog). We hope to meet their new son and daughter, coming from Russia, early in the new year. In the meantime, we recognize that international adoption is an expensive and unpredictable process, and we'd like to demonstrate our support for Todd and Ellen in tangible ways.
We're planning an informal fundraising event Saturday evening, January 2, in Holland. We'll be at the Holland Area Arts Council, 150 E. 8th Street, starting at 7 p.m. We plan to have light food, drink, and musical entertainment. Tickets cost $25 per person, and there will be additional opportunities to contribute--through raffles and direct donations. We'd love your help in any of these ways:
* Sign up to attend using this website by December 28.
* Let us know on that same web page whether you'd like to perform.
* Pass this e-mail along or give us names and e-mail addresses for people you know would like to be included.
* If you can't attend, use this web page to tell us if you'd like to offer support from afar. We'll help you be a part of the event!
In the meantime, you can also make donations to the Engle Adoption Fund at any Macatawa Bank branch in West Michigan, or check the "support" tab on Todd and Ellen's blog.
Thanks for your support and spreading the word! We love being a part of this village network.
Kristen Gray, Kay Hubbard, and Lois Maassen
